At the current time, we are monitoring the developments of the COVID-19 virus very closely, and working with our National affiliation, responses from other Family Promise locations, and local public
health department to determine the best course of action.
In regards to accepting intakes from new Families, Family Promise will stay true to our mission in providing services to the most vulnerable, and recognizing being a support system during times of crisis
is the core of our organization. Therefore, Family Promise of Kandiyohi County will consider new intakes in the event there are no COVID-19 risk factors present, such as recent travel history and present symptoms, and we have space. We will take recommended prevention action to protect the
health and safety of our church partnerships and volunteers, and such consideration will be present during this determination.
Church hosting rotation schedule is Suspended until Sunday August 2nd 2020. Family Promise will continue operations and serving all current guests at the Day Center at the Presbyterian church. Family
Promise will continue practicing reduced volunteer presence during this time and utilize check in and drop ins. Meal volunteers are asked to utilize contact-less drop offs for all meals, and do this by the
procedure outlined in the Confidential Update sent prior to hosting week. This is to reduce the number of volunteers and others coming into contact with each other and the guests. Our national affiliation
has given their blessing in this regard as well as our day center host church.
Family Promise recognizes the need to socially distance and abide with Minnesota’s stay safe order and make arrangements for remote work, but also to increase case services to help fill the gap of other
agencies suspending face to face contact. Any outside contact with the Day Center will need to be arranged prior to, in order to allow the Director to assess for COVID-19 risk, and the guests to maintain proper distance. The day center phone line will remain open at all times to receive calls. The Director will work remotely while increasing check in and drops ins based on guest case management schedule and Day Center operating needs. This schedule will be made flexible to accommodate to families in the event of need.
